Overview
Kwantu Private Game Reserve is a 6010-hectare safari destination in the malaria-free Eastern Cape, only 85km from Port Elizabeth.It 2019s home to the village of Sidbury, built by the British Settlers to support sheep farming in the area and hosts an abundant wildlife population, including the Big 5. It offers a variety of accommodation, from the family styled Pollards Inn to Luxury Bush Camps and exquisite honeymoon lodges as well as relaxing spa facilities.

A visit to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center can get you up close to some orphaned or sick animals, which are nursed here to be released back into the wild when ready.
Best time for wildlife viewing
Although always good, wildlife viewing is at its best during the drier months of June to September. This is when animals search out permanent water sources and congregate around them.

Since the climate is semi-arid, animals are always attracted to water sources – so the best time is during the driest months of June through September. Nights become very cold at this time, making it essential to bring warm clothing for game drives in open vehicles.

Getting There
Kwantu Private Game Reserve is about 85km from Port Elizabeth in the beautiful Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It is easily accessible from the N2 highway towards Grahamstown.
Getting to Kwantu Private Game Reserve by air
Most visitors to Kwantu Private Game Reserve arrive via O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg or Cape Town International Airport (CPT) in Cape Town. You may start your tour from either of these destinations by organized safari or by driving yourself.
You could also take a connecting flight to Port Elizabeth Airport (PLZ) and rent a car there. The distance to the park is just over 85km/53mi on a paved road.
Getting to Kwantu Private Game Reserve by road
From Cape Town:
Take the N2 towards Port Elizabeth, enjoying the scenic Garden Route and all its splendour, en-route to Kwantu. A drive from Durban will see you travelling along the N2 as well, and should you be visiting us from Bloemfontein, enjoy the beautiful countryside whilst driving along the N10.
Visitors will take the N2 to Grahamstown from Nelson Mandela Bay, and continue for approximately 80 km turning left at the Sidbury turnoff and following the signs to Kwantu (approximately 15km later).
